Paul loved helping others...
my fondest memories are associated with Friday evenings in the pub. Paul took great pleasure in deliberating at the bar, looking at the various whiskies and then choosing a single malt for me. Smiling as he returned with a wee dram he would swirl it in the glass to release the peaty aroma. As he passed it over he would ask if his choice was to my liking. And of course it was just perfect.

We have known each other so long, have so many memories together. We knew each other well and accepted each other's foibles. Your unselfishness and consideration for the family leave an example which should be an aspiration. Life isn't fair and it wasn't as fair to you as to me. You had to work longer and then your retirement was cruelly cut short.
I miss our days together and, when there is an empty space in your home, my home or in one of the local hostelries, I think "Paul should be here". I imagine you there, with a beer, with a smile. You leave a gap in our families that can never be filled. Thank you for the many many good times and for everything you did for us all
